Long Time Red Setter Icon passes...

Long time red setter breeder, handler, and trainer Ken Ruff of Sycamore Illinois passed away on Jan. 22, 2014 after a long battle with cancer.  Ken and his wife Linda operated a long time and successful line of red setters under the "Brophy Kennels" banner.  Ken was instrumental in promoting the red setter as hunting and field trial dogs, and was especially successful with his line of dogs in the AKC field trial arena.  The National Red Setter Field Trial Club, the Board of Directors, and the membership of the club offer our condolences to Linda and the Ruff family.  Funeral arrangements are being worked out and will be posted as they become available.  Rest in peace, and may you have great hunting and trialing in your new place with the angels.
